Law enforcement officers established that an unemployed resident of the Lutsk district, born in 1987, was looking for "clients" to sell her six-year-old son. The amount she valued the child at was 25 thousand dollars.
The unemployed 39-year-old suspect tried to improve her financial situation in this way.
Law enforcement officers detained her during the transfer of funds in one of Lutsk's establishments.
The suspect was notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (human trafficking). The suspect faces up to 15 years in prison. She is currently in custody.
The suspect had previous problems with the law – she was accused of committing theft, and the case is currently pending in court.
The boy was taken to a children's center, where specialists are working with him.
