Two large wildfires continue to spread in southern Florida, covering thousands of acres in the Everglades. This was reported by the Associated Press, according to UNN.

According to the Florida Forest Service, the largest fire has already spread across approximately 5,600 acres, or more than 2,300 hectares, southwest of Fort Lauderdale. It is currently 30% contained.
Another fire, covering about 300 acres or 120 hectares, is burning in southern Miami-Dade County near the city of Homestead. It is also only 30% contained.
Visibility deteriorated due to fires
The Florida Forest Service stated that visibility has significantly deteriorated in the fire area due to heavy smoke. State fire units, local rescuers, and the U.S. National Guard are involved in extinguishing the blazes.
There is currently no information regarding deaths, injuries, or serious property damage.
According to officials, the fires spread due to dry weather conditions. Similar large-scale blazes have recently been recorded in other U.S. states, including Georgia, where fire destroyed dozens of homes last month.
