The Verkhovna Rada passed a draft law in the second reading and in general that provides for the release of military personnel from criminal liability for unauthorized abandonment of a unit and desertion if it happened for the first time. However, in order to return to service, it will be necessary to obtain written consent from the commander of the military unit. This was reported by UNN with reference to MP Oleksiy Honcharenko and the card of the bill No. 11322.

Details

"The Rada supported the weakening of responsibility for the NWO (No. 11322). "There were 270 MPs in favor," Goncharenko said.

According to the draft law, a person who first committed criminal offenses under the articles "Unauthorized abandonment of a unit" and "Desertion" during martial law may be released from criminal liability if he or she voluntarily petitions the investigator, prosecutor, or court to return to service.

For the second reading, a provision was added that the military will be able to return not only to the unit in which they served, but also to others, but with the consent of the commander and only once.

Recall

The Verkhovna Rada has voted in favor of a bill on social protection for Ukrainian military personnel. The document guarantees the military fighting in Russia, in particular in the Kursk region, the same payments and preferences as those on the front line.
