Oleksandr Usyk was banned from kissing his cross between the rounds of his rematch with Tyson Fury. This was announced by the British boxer's promoter Frank Warren, reported by talkSport, according to UNN.
Details
In his first fight against Fury, Usyk kissed an object between rounds, which, as it turned out later, was a cross. Social media users suggested that the cross was actually a form of inhaler used by the Ukrainian boxer to replenish his oxygen supply.
Despite the fact that it was not possible to prove that the Ukrainian boxer used an inhaler, Fury's team forbade Usyk to put anything in his mouth except water.
There was a lot of speculation after the fight because we were not sure what it was. We decided as follows: if something other than water is near the boxers' lips, then the inspector should intervene and remove it,
In response, Usyk's team demanded that Fury shave his beard before the rematch, but the British boxer refused.
