Russia has fired at least ten North Korean missiles at Ukraine and received at least ten thousand containers of weapons from North Korea, the US State Department reports.

Russia has launched at least ten North Korean missiles at Ukraine. This was stated by US State Department spokesperson Jeong Park in an interview with the Voice of America, UNN reports.

Details

"Of course, we are concerned that the DPRK is selling weapons to Russia so that Russia can carry out an illegal brutal attack on Ukraine, kill Ukrainians, destroy Ukrainian infrastructure, and simply destroy lives.

We are very concerned about this. There have been at least ten cases of DPRK missiles being used on the battlefield. So, we are very concerned about what this means for future proliferation and how it makes the situation worse," said Jeong Park.

She added that the State Department estimates that Russia has received at least ten thousand containers of weapons from North Korea.

"We know that there were at least ten thousand containers that went from the DPRK to Russia. And the DPRK is not doing this for free.

There are almost certainly things that the DPRK wants in return. And we are concerned about what might happen on the other side. We're also concerned about what the DPRK might learn from Russia's use of these weapons and ballistic missiles on the battlefield, and how that might embolden and/or help the DPRK further advance its weapons program. So, it's a really dangerous time," the State Department spokesperson summarized.

Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, has previously confirmed that Russia has used North Korean missiles to strike Ukraine. He also spoke about their similarity to Iskander missiles .

"We can confirm several cases of Russian use of North Korean missiles. On February 14, Russia hit Ukraine with at least six such missiles.

North Korea's KN-23 ballistic missiles have their own specifics and features, including flying faster than Russian ones. But in general, they are almost the same as the Iskander-M.

We found a part of such a North Korean missile after the attack on Kyiv on January 2 on Mokra Street (formerly Kudryashova Street) in Solomyansky district, where a nine-story building was damaged and four people were killed," Ruvin said.
