The US Senate has rejected two resolutions that would have restricted military aid to Israel over concerns about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.

According to the results of the vote, the majority of senators, including 79 out of 100, voted against the initiative to stop the sale of tank shells to Israel. In turn, another resolution to ban the transfer of mortar shells was also not supported by the majority of senators, receiving only 19 votes in favor.
Legislators, including Senator Bernie Sanders, who initiated these initiatives, have criticized the United States for its military support of Israel in the context of human rights violations. Sanders believes that such assistance is contrary to American laws and international law, in particular in connection with the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip. However, his opponents, in particular Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, emphasize the threats faced by Israel due to the activity of terrorist groups and support from Iran.
Currently, another resolution is still pending in the Senate, which would restrict the supply of GPS navigation systems for bombs. Israel, on the one hand, claims to be making efforts to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, but difficulties with its delivery due to the UN blockade complicate the situation.
