Defense Minister Rustem Umerov during a telephone conversation with Minister of National Defense of Portugal Helena Carreiras discussed the training of of personnel from Ukraine for the Western-style F16 fighter jets, UNN reports with reference to the to the press service of the Ukrainian defense ministry.

They also discussed other assistance provided by Portugal to Ukraine to counter Russian aggression.
"Had a a productive conversation. We are grateful for the support Portugal provides to Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of localizing production in Ukraine," Umerov said.
The Minister of Defense also invited Portuguese companies to to jointly invest in Ukraine's defense industry.
