Starting January 1, 2025, Ukrposhta will introduce new tariffs for parcel delivery, the company's CEO Ihor Smelyansky said on Telegram on Monday, UNN reports.
Details
"Starting January 1, 2025, Ukrposhta will introduce new tariffs for parcel delivery. But these will not be simple tariffs. For the first time in the history of Ukrposhta (and most likely in Ukraine), we are abandoning weight-based tariffs. Yes, completely. So we will have "weightless" tariffs. The tariff will depend solely on the volume. As it happens with global market leaders such as FedEx or UPS. Attention - not on the volume weight, but only on the volume," Smelyansky wrote.
According to him, some of the tariffs have been revised, "but the lowest tariff will remain unchanged, while the rest remain the most affordable on the market and give the customer a choice of what he or she needs: those who need it faster can send it with the Priority tariff, and those who need to save money (up to 50%+ over competitors' prices) can use the Basic tariff.
"I often see in comments on social media or videos on Insta and TikTok the dissatisfaction of customers who have to pay for a 3 kg parcel as if it were 10 kg or for an 11 kg parcel as if it were 30 kg. So, firstly, we will not have kg, and secondly, we will have 8 sizes for tariffs. So you pay only for the volume you send," the official said.
Do I need to specify the weight when sending?" "Yes. Firstly, to control the integrity of the parcel, it's easier to prevent anything from being stolen. Secondly, I understand that someone may send kettlebells. That's the first thing everyone asks when I say we're giving up weight. So, to prevent the weights from falling on New Year's toys, we will use the weight in our operational processes," Smelyansky said.
Is it possible to send something non-standard? "It is possible. But you will have to pay an additional 50 hryvnias for manual processing of the shipment," Smelyansky said.
