According to the Defense Ministry, May 12 was a kind of "tanker's day" for the Russians this year. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian units destroyed 31 occupant tanks in one day. Thus, within one day, the Russian army lost an entire tank battalion destroyed and damaged.
"Such losses could cost the budget of the aggressor country at least USD 9 billion. This is an approximate amount based on calculations based on average world prices for this type of weapon (according to open sources)," the defense ministry said.
9 billion USD, for example, is about 16 annual budgets of the city of Chelyabinsk, which has the worst environmental situation in Russia. At the same time, instead of solving internal social problems, the leadership of the aggressor country continues to throw huge amounts of money into the war, the Defense Ministry emphasized.
