Ukraine’s power system got through a period of record August heat without electricity outage schedules. This was achieved thanks to adjusted repairs, the involvement of gas-fired generation, and increased imports.

Ukraine's power system withstood a period of record August heat without electricity outage schedules, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal said on social media on Saturday, UNN reports.

According to preliminary forecasts, Ukraine's power system made it through the period of record August heat without electricity outage schedules. We adjusted the schedule of planned summer repairs at power plants in a timely manner, including at nuclear power plant units, made maximum use of the available capacity of distributed gas generation, and increased the volume of electricity imports. All this made it possible to avoid a capacity shortfall in Ukraine's system

- Shmyhal wrote.

He expressed his gratitude to "all the energy workers who, under extreme weather and security conditions, continued to repair and restore, connect new capacity, and build protection." "Thank you to all Ukrainians who responded responsibly to our appeals and changed their energy consumption patterns. Together, we continue working," the deputy prime minister added.
