Kseniya Baylo and Sofia Vystavkina are bronze medalists of the European Aquatics Championships in synchronized 10-meter platform diving
The European Aquatics Championships are ongoing in Paris. The second medal for Ukraine in diving was won by Kseniya Baylo and Sofia Vystavkina, who became bronze medalists in synchronized 10-meter platform diving.
The competition in this discipline took place without preliminary qualifications, so the newly formed Ukrainian tandem immediately competed for medals in the final among seven pairs.
The decisive factor in the fight for awards was the fourth dive of the Ukrainian women — three and a half backward somersaults in a tuck position. For its execution, the girls received 75.84 points — the highest score among all dives performed in the final. It was this dive that allowed the Ukrainian women to rise to the top three. After the final dive, the girls maintained their bronze position.
In the end, the Ukrainian duo scored 286.20 points. The champions were representatives of Great Britain (300.06), and the "silver" was won by the team from Germany (298.20).
For Kseniya Baylo, this is already her second medal at the current European Championship after bronze in the mixed team event, and her 14th overall within continental championships (6 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze). Meanwhile, 17-year-old Sofia Vystavkina won a medal at her debut senior European Championship.
