Ukraine will have a new state award "Order of Europe" - parliament made a decision

The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on the new award "Order of Europe" for merits in European integration. 271 deputies voted for Zelenskyy's initiative.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading and in full the draft law that provides for the establishment of a new state award in Ukraine - the "Order of Europe", which will be awarded to individuals for outstanding personal merits in supporting Ukraine's strategic course towards gaining full membership in the European Union. The decision was made at a parliamentary session, reports a UNN correspondent.

Details

Draft law No. 15359 "On Amendments to Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine 'On State Awards of Ukraine'" submitted by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was supported by 271 people's deputies in the second reading.

The Rada also voted 245 votes "for" to instruct the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk to sign the draft law without delay.

According to the draft law, it is proposed to establish a new state award in Ukraine - the "Order of Europe".

The award will be given to individuals for significant personal merits in supporting Ukraine's strategic course towards gaining full membership in the European Union, a substantial contribution to helping Ukraine strengthen its resilience in defending its independence and the security of all of Europe, strengthening international cooperation in the interests of democracy, peace and good neighborliness, and friendly and comprehensive relations between peoples.

Recall

On the Day of the Constitution of Ukraine, June 28, a draft law on establishing a new state award - the "Order of Europe" - was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada by the President of Ukraine.
