The UK government has imposed sanctions on Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash and his wife, as well as financier Denys Horbunenko. The sanctions include a ban on entry to the country and freezing of assets. This was reported by the UK government, UNN reported.

“Dmitry Firtash is an involved person within the meaning of the Global Anti-Corruption Sanctions Regulations 2021 on the following grounds: Firtash is or has been prosecuted for engaging in serious corruption. In particular, Firtash was involved in bribing public officials to obtain mining licenses, and was also involved in the misappropriation of property from the Ukrainian gas transportation network,” the government said in a statement.
The sanctions were also imposed on Firtash's wife Lada and financier Denys Horbunenko, who participated in serious corruption in the interests of Dmytro Firtash while holding a controlling position in Rodovid Bank,” as well as participated in money laundering and acted on behalf of Firtash.
The sanctions imposed on the Firtash spouses include a travel ban and freezing of their assets. Horbunenko's assets were only frozen.
