From 2021 to 2023, the suspects purchased sets of passenger elevators for 9 floors from Turkey worth $10,000, which is significantly less than the cost of the elevator equipment supplied under the reconstruction contracts
The total cost of the damage is more than 4.3 million hryvnias.
Investigators have served five defendants in the case with a notice of suspicion of embezzlement if it was committed on a particularly large scale or by an organized group of persons.
"They face imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and confiscation of property," law enforcement summarized.
