US Republican Party candidate Donald Trump has said that Joe Biden's "ego" will not allow him to drop out of the presidential race, despite growing calls within the Democratic Party to give way to a younger candidate. Writes UNN with citing Reuters and Fox News.
Trump predicts Biden will stay in the presidential race
From the 78-year-old Trump's perspective, the 81-year-old Biden obviously won't be giving up his status as the Democratic Party's nominee in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
It seems to me that he will stay (...) he has his ego and he doesn't want to step down
"It's interesting that he has a lot of power because he has delegates. You know, when you have delegates, if he doesn't say, 'I'm out,' there's nothing they can do to get him out except the 25th Amendment," Trump told interviewer Sean Hannity
At the same time, Trump believes that if Biden's critics manage to "force him out", US Vice President Kamala Harris will take over his candidacy:
I think they're very concerned about the number of votes, and if it's not going to be her, I don't think they need another option
