According to Trump, the U.S. military has neutralized or destroyed most of the mines planted by Iran. He also expressed conviction that the strait would open "immediately" after Tehran signs a memorandum on the cessation of hostilities, although Iran currently refuses to agree to the terms proposed by the U.S.
The American president also mentioned an alternative southern route along the coast of Oman, which some vessels have already used during the restrictions in the strait. According to Bloomberg, some shipments were carried out with the assistance of the U.S. military.
