Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko stated that he supports the adoption of a law on civilian weapons and considers it necessary to clearly regulate their circulation. He said this during a meeting with journalists, as reported by UNN.
Details
According to the minister, Ukraine needs to define categories of weapons and establish transparent rules for citizens' access to them.
"I want a law on civilian weapons. Types of weapons, carbines, that is, hunting weapons, smoothbore, rifled - all this needs to be classified. And a person must undergo a training course, including on safe handling of these weapons," Klymenko said.
He emphasized that the right to own weapons must be accompanied by responsibility and training of the owner.
