Law enforcement officers have dismantled four schemes for the illegal sale of russian weapons and ammunition to representatives of criminal circles in three regions of Ukraine. This was reported by the SBU press service, UNN reports.

Among the items seized from the criminals were over 60 kg of explosives, sniper weapons, as well as large-caliber machine guns and the latest russian-made assault rifles.
In particular, in Kharkiv region , a local businessman was detained red-handed while trying to sell an arsenal of munitions to criminals.

The perpetrator kept the weapons in an underground cache, which he arranged in a forest plantation in the de-occupied Izium district.
During the inspection, the caches were found:
- several boxes of TNT and plastid;
- Dragunov sniper rifle;
- ammunition for grenade launchers and the Fagot anti-tank missile system;
- more than 13 thousand rounds of ammunition of various calibers.
According to the investigation, the suspect transported the found weapons to the cache from the former base of russian troops during the battles for Kharkiv
In addition, near Kyiv , several more hidden arsenals were discovered that the occupiers left behind when fleeing the capital region.
The first hiding place was in an abandoned garage in one of the liberated villages in the Bucha district.
During the inspection of the premises, a russian BRDM with a large-caliber machine gun was found there.
In addition, there were more than 150 rounds of ammunition for grenade launchers and 15 russian-made combat grenades in an underground cache nearby.
The investigation revealed that the caches were discovered by two residents who then decided to sell the weapons to criminals.

Also in Dnipropetrovs'k region a local resident was detained who tried to sell a Kalashnikov handgun underground. The suspect was looking for potential customers among representatives of criminal circles with whom he maintained contacts.
At the same time, the offender was not going to limit himself to selling only one machine gun. During the search of his apartment and minivan, the following was found:
- 2 AK-74 rifles;
- 4 combat grenades and more than 1.3 thousand rounds of ammunition of various calibers.
Currently, all the suspects have been served a notice of suspicion under Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives). The offenders face up to 7 years in prison
After the procedural actions, all seized munitions will be transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In February, Kyiv police seized 85 illegal weapons, including assault rifles, pistols, carbines, machine guns, grenades, and over 10,000 rounds of ammunition during operations to combat illegal arms trafficking.
