The election of the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine will take place on May 21, 2026. Trade unions of the Vinnytsia region have already decided on a candidate – they nominated the current Chairman of the FPU, Serhiy Byzov, UNN reports.
The decision on the nomination was made on April 28 during the VIII (XXXVIII) reporting and election conference of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Vinnytsia region. During his speech at the conference, Byzov outlined key priorities for the trade union movement, including the restoration of social dialogue, support for the military and their adaptation, as well as strengthening the role of labor collectives.
"Our goal is to restore respect for the working person and create a transparent, partnership-based dialogue between business and employees. Over 500,000 trade union members have stood up to defend the Motherland, and it is the labor collectives that will become the center of their social adaptation. Our task is to restore effective social dialogue, conclude collective agreements, and strengthen primary trade union organizations,"
During the conference, the results of the regional trade unions' work over the past five years were also summarized, particularly under the conditions of the pandemic and full-scale war.
As a reminder
Serhiy Byzov's candidacy for the position of FPU Chairman has already been nominated by 30 sectoral trade unions and 18 territorial trade union associations.
