In Mexico, Audias Flores Silva, a high-ranking member of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, for whom the US had offered a $5 million reward, has been detained. This was reported by Bloomberg, according to UNN.

The operation was conducted by the Mexican Navy, as announced by the country's Security Minister. According to authorities, Flores Silva was a regional commander of one of Mexico's most powerful cartels operating along the Pacific coast.
He was wanted for involvement in drug trafficking as well as fraudulent schemes targeting US citizens.
In particular, the American side accused him of leading a timeshare fraud scheme that swindled money from elderly Americans.
Operation Details
The US Department of State had previously announced a reward for his capture after establishing his role within the cartel's structure. Flores Silva was detained during a special operation, the details of which have not been disclosed.
The detainee is also considered a possible successor to the cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as "El Mencho," who, according to authorities, was eliminated during an operation in February.
The Jalisco New Generation Cartel is considered one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in Mexico and is actively involved in drug trafficking and financial fraud.
