The Russian Federation attacks Odesa region almost every day, shelling civilian homes and cultural heritage sites. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, on the Moldovan TV channel TV8, UNN reports.

"In recent weeks, Odessa has been shelled very heavily. Both the city center and the port infrastructure have suffered.Cultural heritage sites are also suffering. But most of all, residential buildings suffer. Only during the last flight 22 objects were damaged, before that there were much more. And it's clear that this creates discomfort for ordinary people. For example, after the last attack, when the water main was broken, two thousand apartments were without water supply for more than a day.But we do everything to ensure their livelihood, we work as hard as possible to ensure that residents of the Odessa region, Odessa, guests and visitors feel safe. We constantly urge them at the sound of the alarm to hide in shelters"- said Kiper.

The head of the OVA recalled how the Russians shelled the Cathedral of the Transfiguration in the summer.

"This is one of the largest cathedrals in Ukraine. There were many people in the lower church of this cathedral, as it was used as a shelter. But, thank God, no one was hurt.

The rocket penetrated the right side of the cathedral, and went six meters, or even more, into the depths. It exploded, but everyone was alive. The cathedral took the hit. Due to the fact that there are large walls, everyone survived," recalls Kiper.

Realizing the insidiousness of the enemy, the Odessa OVA is thoroughly preparing for the coming winter, Kiper said. Authorities in the region are working, among other things, to increase the number of "Points of Indestructibility."

"There are already about 800 such points. And we are ready to deploy them in one or another neighborhood in a mobile manner.

In addition, we are building structures that will protect infrastructure from attacks by the Russian Federation, from blast waves.

Also, the air defense system is being strengthened on a daily basis. We started preparing for the current winter well in advance," he said.
