Lithuanian MEP Petras Auštrevičius told UNN that the EU's promise to provide 1 million shells for Ukraine by March should be fulfilled, but delays are possible.
We have made a very big promise that we have to fulfill. I don't see anything else but fulfillment of our promise. There may be some delay because the promise does not match the existing capacity and production capabilities, but we have to accelerate. I mean, there is no other way but to provide Ukraine with more weapons and military ammunition for defense

The MEP added that he was not satisfied with the fact that he was not absolutely sure that the ammunition would arrive in time and added: "We will be more active in pushing all the institutions and organizations that have to produce it (weapons - ed.)."
According to Austrevicius, Ukraine needs long-term support, so "it is better that the assistance is provided sooner rather than later".
As a reminder
Kuleba confirmedthat the EU will not be able to deliver the promised million of ammunition to Ukraine by March 2024 due to the state of defense production and bureaucratic obstacles.
