The reconstruction of the lyceum in Buzova will be checked by a specially created commission and law enforcement officers. The decision was made today by the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Ruslan Kravchenko following a meeting with all contractors involved in the reconstruction process, with the participation of representatives of the regional prosecutor's office, UNN reports.
"The law enforcement agencies have already registered proceedings following my appeal. Investigative actions are being carried out by the national police.
The contractor at this site is not fulfilling its obligations: there are no workers, poor quality of work and its pace, etc. In addition, I have received complaints from residents of Kyiv region about the reconstruction of Buzivskyi Academic Lyceum, the Duymovochka kindergarten in Vasylkiv and an apartment building at 367-A Central Street in Borodyanka," said Ruslan Kravchenko.
All these facilities have a single contractor, Ukrmerezhbud LTD Consortium. The contracts were signed at the end of 2023. The amount of work performed at all these facilities is negligible.
The lyceum in Buzova is being restored at the expense of the Fund for Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression.
"People are desperate and blocking roads. I will not allow contractors to abuse people, delay reconstruction, or use funds inefficiently. After all the checks and investigations are completed and if violations are confirmed, we will decide to terminate the contracts and go to court to seek compensation for damages," said Ruslan Kravchenko.
We also discussed the situation at all other facilities. A commission will also work on each site where there are issues. It will include representatives of all law enforcement agencies, relevant departments of the ARMA, technical supervision, the State Labor Service, the Supervisory Board for Reconstruction under the ARMA, anti-corruption NGOs, and auditors. All violators will also face termination of their contracts.
"If someone hopes that we will not see the violations that exist, I will disappoint them. Everyone will be held accountable. There will be no delays, no attempts to make money on the grief of people who have lost their homes or children who are waiting for their schools and kindergartens to be rebuilt! There are certainly conscientious contractors. And I am grateful to those who understand the full scope of their responsibility to people and the country and do their job well," added the head of the KRMA.
Help
The reconstruction of the lyceum in Buzova village is funded by the Fund for Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression.
Previously, it was planned to rebuild the facility at the expense of UNITED24. However, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration simultaneously applied for funding for the lyceum in Buzova village from the Fund for Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression, which was the first to fund the reconstruction. Therefore, the CRMA submitted an appeal to the Ministry of Education and Science to rebuild two other educational institutions. Therefore, the $1.25 million* raised under UNITED24 was redirected to rebuild the Krasylivka and Katyuzhany lyceums in Kyiv Oblast, which are scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
