The Parliament failed to recall Yuriy Boyko from the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, with only 217 MPs voting in favor. Previously, Boyko spread pro-Russian narratives on TikTok and was summoned for questioning by the SBU.

The Verkhovna Rada failed to recall MP Yuriy Boyko from the parliamentary committee on human rights, as only 217 MPs voted in favor, the parliamentary corps reported on Wednesday, UNN reports.

"The parliament failed to recall Boyko from the committee. Only 217 votes were cast. That's the parliament's ability to fight collaborators," Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech, wrote on Telegram.

"The Rada failed to even recall Yuriy Boyko from the position of a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations. "There were only 217 votes in favor ," MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote on Telegram.

"Boyko was not expelled from the committee. There were not enough votes," MP Oleksiy Honcharenko added on Telegram.

Recall

Yuriy Boyko, a former MP from the pro-Russian Opposition Platform - For Life party and now the head of the Platform for Life and Peace parliamentary group, has begun actively posting videos on TikTok with pro-Russian narratives. 

MPs submitted a resolution to recall Boyko from the Rada Human Rights Committee due to his spreading pro-Russian narratives.   

On December 17, Boyko was interrogated by the SBU.
