Commenting on the collection of data for the evacuation of Ukrainian drivers stuck on the border with Poland due to the blockade, Vice President of the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine Volodymyr Balin said that many technical issues need to be resolved. In particular, where the trucks will be parked and who will guard the cargo. He said this in a comment to a journalist of UNN.
I hope that we will still work more actively in terms of unblocking the border. Evacuation of drivers was one of our proposals as a possible solution, but it requires a comprehensive approach. We need to understand where the trucks will be parked and who will guard the cargo. Because all these cargoes are taken by the carriers under their responsibility, Balin said.

According to him, some of them are under customs seals, meaning that certain measures need to be taken to make the driver leave the truck. "So I understand that the first stage is to find out who wants to evacuate, and the second stage is to find out how to do it technically... We need to think about where to put so many trucks, who will accept the trucks and cargo, that is, many issues that need to be resolved on the Polish side," Balin said.
When asked whether negotiations with the Polish side were planned, Balin replied: "At least now we are not involved, I don't know about it. But we know from open sources and communication with the deputy minister, which took place yesterday, that today there should be some rather tough letter from the European Commission towards Poland, and we hope that the Polish government will respond to it more effectively."
