The publication indicates that the double earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 devastated a large part of the northern coastal state of La Guaira. Since the earthquakes on June 24, 890 aftershocks have occurred. The UN and other organizations warn that the final death toll could exceed 10,000, given the scale of the disaster.
"The government has not released an official estimate of the number of people still missing. However, according to data collected by opposition representatives, the number of missing or presumed missing exceeds 32,000," the media outlet summarizes.
