Ukraine plans to strengthen security measures near police stations to counter terrorist attacks. In particular, there will be increased patrolling of territories, the use of hand-held metal detectors. This was stated by the spokeswoman of the National Police of Ukraine Yulia Girdvilis on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.
When asked whether the police are planning to strengthen security measures to counter terrorist attacks, Girdvilis replied: "We are planning to strengthen security measures to counter such attempts of crimes, in particular, this is increased patrolling of police territories in order to identify suspicious persons, objects. There is also increased inspection of vehicles located near police departments."
Also, according to her, additional stages of verification of persons are planned, for example, discussion of the purpose of the visit to the police.
"The use of hand-held metal detectors in the near future and, if possible, frame-based ones is likely. Also, an increase in video surveillance cameras not only in the police department, but also nearby," Girdvilis said.
In addition, Girdvilis noted that law enforcement officers continue to inform citizens about recognizing signs of terrorist activity.
"Four people have died at the hands of Russians since the beginning of the year while committing such crimes, and several others have serious injuries," Girdvilis said.
