The European Union officially launches the Ukraine2EU program to support Ukraine on its path to EU membership, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna reported, UNN writes.

The Ukraine2EU program is reportedly a key EU program aimed at supporting Ukraine in its preparation for EU accession and membership. The program was initiated by the EU, Lithuania and Denmark, which were joined by Sweden.

The Government of Ukraine, as noted in the Office of Stefanishyna, "is actively working to implement large-scale transformations to harmonize national legislation with EU standards and norms."
"Actively cooperating with Ukrainian authorities and civil society, the Ukraine2EU Program will support Ukraine in all stages of preparation for EU membership, remaining flexible and adaptable to the needs of the country," the Office said.

Earlier, six EU countries EU called for speeding up Ukraine's membership. In a joint letter, senior diplomats from Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia called on Brussels to develop "concrete proposals on how to decisively advance Ukraine's accession process." And they pointed out that the EU should urgently formulate a clear roadmap for Ukraine to become a full member of the bloc.
