The Czech Republic is the world leader in the consumption of diabetes medicines, UNN reports with reference to Radio Prague.

According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Czech Republic annually ranks fourth in the global ranking for diabetes drug consumption. The worst situation is in Canada, Finland and Greece. Consumption of other drugs is also growing. The Czech Republic also dominates in the consumption of cardiovascular drugs - 4th place. The Czechs rank 6th in the world in terms of consumption of high blood pressure drugs.
Experts believe that the core of the problem may be related not only to the high incidence rate, but also to the wastefulness of medication consumption.
