The Czech government has decided to allocate funds for its own initiative to purchase shells for Ukraine outside the EU. About 20 countries have expressed interest in joining this initiative.

The Czech government has decided to allocate funds for the purchase of shells for Ukraine outside the EU, which was initiated earlier by Prague itself. The decision was announced on March 27 by Prime Minister Petr Fiala, UNN reports citing the Czech government portal.

Thus, we are joining the Czech initiative, which is very successful and to which about twenty countries have already expressed their interest in joining

- Prime Minister Fiala said.

He also said that the ammunition would arrive in Ukraine "in a few weeks or months."  Ukrainian troops can adapt their tactics to this today, the official said.

"I would like to once again thank everyone who joined this initiative. And today the Czech government has taken another step in this direction," the Prime Minister said.

Add

The Czech government has also decided to add three more individuals, two individuals and one legal entity, to its national sanctions list. These are Viktor Medvedchuk, Artem Marchevsky and Voice of Europe, s.r.o.  According to Fiala, these individuals have been carrying out "measures of influence" on the territory of the European Union against the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

As Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky previously stated, Ukraine could potentially receive 1.5 million shells under the Czech initiative.
