Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat stated that the Russian Federation has the resources for a new attack. Ukraine has a shortage of interceptor missiles for Patriot.

Russian military may repeat massive ballistic strikes on Kyiv or attack Ukrainian regions with them in the near future. The enemy has sufficient material and technical resources to currently afford such tactics, said Yurii Ihnat, head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the national telethon on July 6, reports UNN.

The spokesperson of the Ukrainian Air Force urged citizens to be cautious and not ignore air raid signals.

"Russia has the resources to launch a new massive strike on Ukraine as early as tomorrow, so we need to be cautious," Ihnat said.

He explained that the capabilities of the Russian army are not unlimited. But for now, they can afford to regularly attack Ukraine with a certain frequency.

"You see, the average frequency is once every 10 days. If we count on average. They can shorten the period and launch strikes even the next day," detailed the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Air Force.

Speaking to media representatives about the missile and drone strike that the Russian armed forces carried out on Kyiv on the night of July 6, Yurii Ihnat noted that to intercept ballistic missiles, Ukraine primarily needs missiles for Patriot systems, and there is a serious shortage of them.

"To shoot down ballistic missiles, you need something to shoot them down with. There are enough systems. A constant supply of missiles is needed. We have a serious shortage of interceptor missiles," he emphasized.

The Air Force spokesperson explained that the Russians are exploiting this very shortage and are betting on ballistic missiles because shooting down such targets is much more difficult than cruise missiles or drones.

Yurii Ihnat's words were effectively confirmed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Our warriors showed good results today in shooting down drones and cruise missiles, but unfortunately, not against Russian ballistic missiles. And the reason is precisely the insufficient supplies of interceptor missiles," said Zelenskyy.

The Ukrainian leader spoke about Kyiv's need for interceptor missiles as early as last week during his official visit to Ireland. Then, right during a press conference, he warned his compatriots about a likely powerful strike by the Russian armed forces, urged them to take care of their safety, and urgently returned to Ukraine, canceling the continuation of the visit.
