Support for Ukraine, "a good new beginning for the Weimar Triangle" and the security of Europe - these are the theses voiced by the leaders of Germany, France and Poland during a meeting in Berlin, UNN reports with reference to The Guardian.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz opened a press conference in Berlin by saying that it is clear that Germany, France and Poland support Ukraine, but it is also clear that the countries are not at war with Russia.
He noted that countries will buy more weapons for Ukraine on the world market and will work with partners to increase weapons production in Ukraine.
Scholz says that Russian President Vladimir Putin should know that support for Ukraine in Europe will not fall, and they will use frozen Russian assets to financially support Ukraine.
French President Emmanuel Macron, for his part, said that countries will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary. He repeated the argument he made in an interview on French television last night, saying that the security of the whole of Europe is at stake in Ukraine. Macron also emphasized that Europe is united and strongly supports Ukraine.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, in turn, added that they speak with one voice on security and that they intend to spend money on aid here and now.
At the end of his speech, Tusk called today's meeting "a good new start for the Weimar Triangle," and said that the three leaders would meet again in Poland in the summer.
