According to Czarzasty, anti-Ukrainian rhetoric has been heard more frequently in Poland recently, and historical memory remains one of the most sensitive topics in bilateral relations. He emphasized that, despite existing differences, it is in Poland's interest to maintain a constructive dialogue with Kyiv.
At the same time, the politician criticized the decision of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to grant an honorary title of "Heroes of the UPA" to one of the military units. Czarzasty stated that he sees no logical explanation for such a step.
Despite this, the Speaker of the Polish Parliament emphasized that historical disputes should not become a reason for the deterioration of relations between Poland and Ukraine, especially in the context of ongoing Russian aggression.
