SoundCloud has announced a new cheaper paid plan for artists called Artist, and renamed its Next Pro plan to Artist Pro, UNN reports with reference to TechChurnch.
Details
The new plan will cost $39 per year and impose certain restrictions on features such as track expansion, distribution, monetization, and AI mastery.
Artists who subscribe to this plan will get 3 hours to play as many songs as they want - the same limit as in the free plan.
Artists will also have the opportunity to amplify new tracks to reach more than 100 listeners. SoundCloud can also be used as a way to distribute and monetize tracks on other platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and TikTok.
Artists will receive 100% of royalties for playback on SoundCloud, and will also keep the profits from other platforms. Both of these features are available for two tracks per month for the basic plan.
In addition, users will be able to replace three tracks per month without losing statistics, plays, likes, or comments. Artists will also receive credit for mastering one track per month using SoundCloud's tools.
The new basic plan will be widely available after its piloting in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
