Attackers are luring out Viber access codes under the guise of social assistance. Ukrainians are urged not to transfer personal data to third parties.

Ukrainians have massively started receiving phishing messages about alleged "social payments." This was reported by UNN with reference to the Center for Strategic Communications.

Details

The attackers write that "it's your turn" to receive assistance and offer to press "+" and wait for a call. At the same time, they introduce themselves as "UN representatives."

At the same time, they often make characteristic mistakes - for example, they write from an account with a female name, but in the text they refer to themselves in the masculine gender. Then - they ask to provide the last 4 digits of the code that comes in Viber. This is the key - this is how scammers gain access to accounts or personal data

- stated in the post of the Center for Strategic Communications.

Ukrainians are asked never to give any codes to strangers - even if the message looks "official."

Recall

Recently, law enforcement officers exposed an organized group of fraudsters who seized cryptocurrency from Ukrainian and foreign citizens through malicious web resources and caused millions of hryvnias in damages.
