In the evening of August 6, the Russian Defense Ministry announced a "breakthrough" of the border in the Kursk region by the 22nd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, supported by allegedly 11 tanks and more than 20 armored combat vehicles and a mountain of equipment "destroyed" by them.
Also in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation , the authorities complained about attempts to "break through" into the region, as stated by the acting governor of the Kursk region, Alexei Smirnov.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, said that Russian propaganda, on orders from Moscow, is trying to shift the main focus of attention in the information space in order to divert attention from the situation in the Kursk region.
