The Second Investigative Department (based in Odesa) of the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation located in Mykolaiv is investigating criminal proceedings on the fact of not allowing auditors of the Southern Office of the State Audit Service to conduct an audit. This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in Odesa Oblast in response to a request from UNN.

It is specified that the pre-trial investigation in the case was carried out by the Police Department No. 2 of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 351-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On May 10, the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Prosecutor's Office assigned jurisdiction over the criminal proceedings to the second investigative department of the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation located in Mykolaiv.
As a reminder, the criminal proceedings were opened on the grounds that in March, the management of the national park did not allow state auditors to enter the territory to check their activities, including the illegal use of budget funds. Therefore, the auditors initiated criminal proceedings .
Nevertheless, the State Audit Service initiated and is conducting an audit of the financial and economic activities of the national park.

Earlier, UNN reported that the Tuzly Estuaries National Park in Odesa Oblast has an annual budget of 5,565,380 hryvnias, of which 97% is spent on salaries for 45 employees. And this is a very impressive number of staff for a national park during the war. However, according to law enforcement officials, they are unable to restore order there.
It should be added that local authorities have sent an appeal to the Ministry of Ecology to dismiss the management of the national park.
