The SAP prosecutor has filed a motion with the court to change the pre-trial detention measure for People's Deputy Oleksandr Yurchenko, who is accused of receiving undue benefits and inciting the provision of such benefits. The prosecution insists on applying a pre-trial detention measure in the form of custody to the accused. This was reported by the SAP press service, according to UNN.
On April 21, 2026, the SAP prosecutor filed a motion with the court to change the pre-trial detention measure for a People's Deputy of Ukraine. He, along with another person, is accused of receiving undue benefits and inciting the provision of such benefits. The prosecutor insists on applying a pre-trial detention measure in the form of custody to the accused and collecting 3 million hryvnias in bail for the state's benefit.
The SAP emphasized that this decision is due to the deputy's systematic non-appearance. In particular, he did not attend the regular meeting due to a business trip that he initiated himself, despite being informed in advance about the scheduled court hearing.
It should be noted that due to the non-appearance of the accused, court hearings were postponed for two consecutive months. The consideration of the motion is scheduled for April 28, 2026.

On August 11, 2021, the SAP and NABU sent an indictment to the court against Yurchenko and his intermediary, accused of receiving undue benefits and inciting the provision of such benefits.
In the summer of 2020, the National Bureau received operational information about the existence of an organized group whose members received undue benefits for using the legitimate powers of People's Deputies of Ukraine. To identify all members of the criminal group and operatively document their activities, NABU developed a special operation to uncover the criminal activities of the organized group and include an "undercover" detective in its composition.
Within the framework of the mentioned special operation, the "undercover" detective acted as a representative of a foreign company. After meeting one of the group members, the detective informed him that a condition for investing in Ukraine was the adoption of a number of legislative initiatives regarding the provision of a "green tariff" for electricity sales to waste disposal enterprises and other regulatory provisions for the enterprise's activities.
According to the investigation, after this, the crime participant introduced the detective to a People's Deputy of Ukraine. During subsequent meetings, the people's chosen one requested that he be given an undue benefit of 13 thousand dollars through an intermediary for introducing proposals to the draft law of Ukraine "On Waste Management" and subsequently another 200 thousand dollars for bribing People's Deputies - members of the relevant Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
In early August, the "undercover" detective transferred an undue benefit of 13 thousand dollars for introducing proposals through an intermediary. On August 26-27, the accomplices planned to receive 200 thousand dollars, including for bribing People's Deputies. However, the National Bureau was forced to stop further execution of the special task because the crime participants were informed about the documentation of their activities, simultaneously changing their mobile phone numbers and mobile communication terminals.
According to the conclusions of the examinations, all audio and video recordings obtained during the covert investigative (search) actions against the People's Deputy of Ukraine and his accomplice do not contain signs of montage or forgery, and the statements made in these video recordings belong precisely to the People's Deputy and the second co-perpetrator of the crime.
Despite all attempts by the People's Deputy and his accomplice to disguise the request for undue benefits and the subsequent incitement to transfer money to other deputies, the conclusion of the judicial semantic-textual (linguistic) examination confirmed the presence in the statements of the accused of a request for monetary funds as undue benefits and their incitement of the NABU "undercover" detective to provide undue benefits to members of the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The intermediary in the transfer of undue benefits (the unofficial assistant to the People's Deputy) was notified of suspicion by NABU and SAP on September 10, 2020. The People's Deputy himself was notified later - on September 17, after the suspicion was signed by the Prosecutor General.
