Russian troops have destroyed the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Zakitne, Donetsk region. The occupiers dropped an incendiary munition onto the roof of the church. This was reported by the Separate Airmobile Slobozhanska Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the AFU, according to UNN.

The enemy used a UAV for the shelling, dropping a munition with an incendiary mixture onto the roof. The adversary uses this method to strike dugouts and wooden buildings.
It is noted that this is the second instance of the destruction of the church in Zakitne. The Soviet authorities first destroyed the religious building in the 1930s.
The modern building was designed and constructed in 2009-2010, and the consecration of the temple took place on July 31, 2010.
