Russia has reported a drone attack, and OSINT analysts are recording fires, presumably on the territory of the "Azot" chemical plant in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai, as well as at the "Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez" refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, following a strike, UNN reports.
Details
As reported by ASTRA, on the night of May 20, residents of Nevinnomyssk reported explosions and a fire. The mayor also reported an attack.
"Near Nevinnomyssk, our air defenses are repelling a raid by enemy drones aimed at the city's industrial zone. There are shoot-downs," stated the Governor of Stavropol Krai, Vladimir Vladimirov.
An ASTRA OSINT analyst established that the fire likely broke out on the territory of "Azot." A photo showing the glow from the fire, published by eyewitnesses, was taken from a location approximately 4.7 km away from the Nevinnomyssk "Azot" facility.
This is at least the 7th attack on the enterprise during the full-scale war.
It is also reported that on the morning of May 20, residents of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, reported explosions and a fire. Local authorities added that schoolchildren in the Kstovo district have been moved to remote learning today due to the attack. It was also recommended not to send children to kindergartens.
Based on eyewitness footage, an ASTRA OSINT analyst determined that the hit object is in the southwestern part of the "Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez" refinery (likely the ELOU-AVT unit). ELOU-AVT is a basic combined unit for primary oil refining at oil refineries (ORs). Its main task is the preparation of crude oil and its separation into basic fractions (straight-run gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, vacuum gas oil, and tar).
Previously, "Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez" in Kstovo was attacked in April 2024.
