A social media user wrote on X: “This is downright stupid. HBO has a track record of producing some of the greatest shows, from The Sopranos to The Heirs, but pandering to J.K. Rowling's extreme views only makes it worse.
Another said: “It's really cool that a major corporation just said: “Yes, we will side with a dangerous transphobe who has actively contributed to an atmosphere of violence and stigma against transgender people.” To hell with J.K. HBO supports Rowling
HBO CEO Casey Bloys said earlier this month that Rowling “was very, very involved in the process of choosing the writer and director.
