The Verkhovna Rada has passed a bill that prohibits doctors from prescribing medicines on forms containing advertising information, and pharmacists will be required to provide accurate information about available analogs at the request of customers. According to the draft law, it is prohibited for doctors, pharmacists, and rehabilitation specialists to prescribe medicines, medical devices, or rehabilitation aids under the influence of direct or indirect financial incentives, namely:
receiving souvenirs and branded products;
bonuses, bonuses, and gifts;
return of part of the funds for the intended purpose;
participation in competitions, lotteries, and events from pharmaceutical representatives in exchange for an appointment.
Prescribing medicines on forms that contain advertising information or help control the frequency of prescriptions will also be banned. The restrictions will also apply to medical devices and rehabilitation aids.
When selling medicines, pharmacists will be obliged to provide reliable information on available analogs that may be equivalent in terms of their effect, composition or efficacy at the request of customers. In addition, it will be prohibited to conceal information about medicines with a similar active ingredient at a lower price for personal gain.

On August 16, the law on the legalization of medical cannabis came into force.
