Russian dictator Putin's first deputy chief of staff, Sergei Kiriyenko, is conducting a propaganda tour of the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. The Center for Countering Disinformation explained that the real purpose of the "tour" is to create the illusion of the Kremlin's care for the residents of the occupied regions in the information space, UNN reports.
According to the CPD, as part of this, Kiriyenko arranges meetings with local gauleiters, visits hospitals, schools and "centers of patriotic education," inspects mobile food stores, lays flowers at the graves of "heroes of Novorossiya," and so on. ▫️Ці these events are actively covered by Russian propaganda resources. The main emphasis is placed on "plans for recovery and reconstruction" and how "people will live well under Russian occupation.
"The real goal of this tour is to create the illusion in the information space that the Kremlin cares about the residents of the occupied regions. With the promise of a "good life" in the future, Russia is trying to justify its own actions, which have turned the occupied Ukrainian cities into ruins, and their residents have problems with access to basic goods such as water, medicine and food," the Center for Public Advocacy noted.
