A man detained in Poland who is suspected of collaborating with russia and preparing an assassination attempt on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy faces up to 8 years in prison. This was reported by the press service of the National Prosecutor's Office of Poland, UNN reports.

The investigation established that Pawel K. contacted russian citizens directly involved in the war in Ukraine and, on their behalf, collected and transmitted information to russian military intelligence about the security of Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport.
The detainee in Poland was charged with willingness to act in favor of foreign intelligence, classified under Article 130 § 3 of the Criminal Code. The crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 8 years
It is noted that the District Court of Warsaw, at the request of the Polish Prosecutor's Office, on April 18, imposed a preventive measure in the form of arrest on Pawel K.

Poland also noted Ukraine's active cooperation in this matter. The National Prosecutor's Office says that the coordinated activities of Polish and Ukrainian services have made it possible to obtain evidence outside of Poland.
