Poland will not transfer its MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine due to the lack of an agreement on exchanging aircraft for cooperation in the production of Ukrainian drones. This is reported by UNN with reference to Polsat News.

Details

According to the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Poland, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Warsaw offered Kyiv to transfer the fighters in exchange for access to Ukrainian developments and experience in drone production.

The Ukrainian side initially agreed, but the agreement was not fulfilled. Therefore, there will be no aircraft for Ukraine

- he said.

He added that he does not consider the decision of the previous Polish government to transfer military equipment to Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion without any conditions to be a mistake.

They acted correctly, I will say more: I would have done the same. Ukraine was in a much more difficult situation then

- the minister's statement reads.

Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz also added that Poland seeks to build relations with Ukraine "on the principle of mutual benefit."

Recall

Negotiations on establishing a permanent base of US troops in Poland have entered a new phase. This happened after the Pentagon's positive response to the corresponding proposal from Warsaw.
