Most of the Black Sea area liberated from Russian presence remains a “gray zone” for now. This was stated by the spokesman of the Ukrainian Navy Dmytro Pletenchuk during a telethon, according to a correspondent of UNN .

When asked to what extent the Ukrainian Armed Forces control the Black Sea, Pletenchuk replied:

We can say that most of the liberated water area from the presence of Russians remains, unfortunately, a “gray zone” for now. Because, yes, there is no ship and boat component, but nevertheless, aviation continues to operate and, for example, on the western coast of Crimea, on the southern coast of Crimea, Russian aviation still dominates the air

- He said.

He noted that this is also a temporary phenomenon.

“As for the northern part of Crimea, if we take the southern part of the mainland, there is active aviation, reconnaissance, small aircraft, that is, drones are mostly present in large numbers, constantly conducting reconnaissance. Despite the fact that they are losing these units almost every day, they have transferred some of the functionality of the ship component to this component,” Pletenchuk said.

On August 20, Pletenchuk reported that reconnaissance ships of the Black Sea Fleetin Russia no longer go to sea.
