In the first half of 2026, the number of entrepreneurs in Ukraine increased by almost 40 thousand. This is reported by Opendatabot, reports UNN.
Details
According to available data, 141.5 thousand new individual entrepreneurs (FOPs) were opened in Ukraine in the first half of 2026, and 102.3 thousand were closed. As a result, the number of FOPs increased by almost +40 thousand.
The main reason is not a boom in new businesses. It's just that closures decreased by 36% compared to the same period last year. The best growth dynamics are shown by education, trade, and courier services
By region, the most new entrepreneurs were registered in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and Lviv Oblast.
In total, in 22 regions, there are more new FOPs than those who ceased operations. A negative balance was recorded only in Donetsk, Kherson, and Luhansk oblasts.
Recall
The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine reported that over 900 thousand Ukrainians automatically opened a FOP. Thanks to the modernization of the Unified State Register, it was possible to fully automate the processes of registration, amendments, and closure of FOPs on the "Diia" portal.
