Stellantis is recalling more than 1.3 million Jeep SUVs and pickup trucks worldwide due to fire concerns and is urging owners to park outdoors and away from structures or other vehicles until the remedy is completed, UNN reports, citing Reuters.

In a statement to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Tuesday, Stellantis said the recall affects 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler SUVs and Jeep Gladiator pickups due to an electrical connection issue in the electro-hydraulic power steering pump wiring.
The automaker stated that in rare cases, this issue could lead to the overheating of combustible materials, which may result in a vehicle fire.
A loose electrical connection can lead to melting, which could ultimately cause a vehicle fire, added Stellantis, whose brands also include Fiat, Chrysler, and Peugeot.
Stellantis stated it is aware of customer service records and field reports of at least 72 fires that may be related to this issue, as well as one injury.
The recall includes nearly 1.08 million vehicles in the United States, 106,000 in Canada, 23,000 in Mexico, and approximately 125,000 in other markets worldwide, Stellantis reported.
Stellantis said on Tuesday that the recall will involve an inspection and potentially the repair or replacement of the wiring harness or the electro-hydraulic power steering pump. The company stated it is working to expedite a solution and expects the remedy to be available no later than July.
