Opened fire near Kyiv: law enforcement officers detained a 43-year-old man

A 43-year-old resident of Bila Tserkva fired a pneumatic rifle at an 18-year-old youth. The victim was hospitalized, an investigation into the fact of hooliganism is ongoing.

The police of Kyiv region detained a man who on July 11 in Bila Tserkva fired a pneumatic weapon and injured a young man. The injured 18-year-old youth was hospitalized with bodily injuries and provided with necessary medical care. The prosecutor's office is conducting a pre-trial investigation into the fact of hooliganism, reports the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv region, according to UNN

"The police of Kyiv region detained a man who committed a shooting in the center of Bila Tserkva. Law enforcement officers established that a 43-year-old local resident fired a pneumatic weapon and injured a young man," the statement reads. 

Operatives conducted a series of measures and established that the offender lives in a house located next to the crime scene. During a search of the suspect's residence, material evidence was discovered and seized, including a pneumatic rifle with an optical sight and ammunition for it.

Police officers detained the man in a procedural manner and placed him in a temporary detention facility.

Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Bila Tserkva District Prosecutor's Office, are conducting a pre-trial investigation into the fact of hooliganism (Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The investigation is ongoing.
