Norway continues to successfully integrate Ukrainian refugees into the labor market. Currently, about 30% of Ukrainians staying in the country are already employed. This was stated by the Minister of Labor of Norway, Tonje Brenna, during a press conference, reports UNN.
We have now accepted about 93,000 Ukrainians in Norway. They live all over the country, some in big cities, some in very small municipalities. About 30% of them are employed, but almost all adults attend what we call an introductory program - a program where you learn Norwegian and other cultural things to be able to manage your life in Norway and be ready for work.
According to Brenna, the program is very popular among Ukrainians, because it helps not only to adapt to new conditions, but also to prepare for work in the local labor market.
From the data we have about Ukrainians in Norway, we know that the longer you stay in Norway, the more likely you are to become part of the labor market.
In addition, she stressed that there has been a significant improvement over the past year, and employment rates among Ukrainians have doubled.
We would like them to be even higher, because we are interested in people being themselves and being able to take care of themselves. We want people to have a salary they can live on, so they can have colleagues and friends, so they really feel safe being in Norway, away from the war. And, of course, being part of the labor market is an important component.

The EU countries that received the largest number of beneficiaries of temporary protection from Ukraine were Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
